Phenomenon	Troubleshooting solutions (FMEA: Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
No laser when marking	①EZCAD is in demo mode: USB control board didn’t start. ②Laser switch button didn’t press or it is broken. ③Whether the laser type,parameter and port setting is right or not. ④Workpiece is not in the focus, please adjust the lifting. ⑤Check the power supply, the input port 220V, the output port 24V. ⑥Check the USB wire between control card and computer is ok or not. ⑦Check the green led on the control card is lit up or not, if not, check the power supply for the control card, the input port 220V, the output 5V. ⑧Laser source failure. ⑨The high temperature (more than 40℃) leads to machine temperature protection. Note: It may also occur these situations above if customer replace the parts and leads to wrong wire connection.
Sometimes has laser and sometimes no laser when marking	①Check the 24V of power supply is stable or not. ②Replace a new control card to check the previous one ok or not. ③Laser source failure.
The laser beam is weak when marking	①The power% is low: Increase the Power% in the right of parameters column. ②Workpiece is not in the focus, please adjust the lifting to the focus. ③The field lens has many dust: clear it by alcohol,don’t scratch the coating of lens. ④The lifetime of laser source: excessive long using time leads to power decline or loss.
No red light when click“light F1”	①EZCAD software parameter port setting: The red light pointer output is“0”or not. ②The connecting from red light wire to 15 pin soldering, 15 pin port with CON4 port on control card, whether it is correct or not. ③The red light component is broken.
It can’t find the dog driver when marking	①Open the device manager and check whether the dog driver (Senselock)is installed ok or not. ②The control card doesn’t match with the dog driver, or the control card is broken.
It can’t find the LMC control board when marking	①Open the device manager and check whether the LMC control board(Senselock)is installed ok or not. ②The green led on control card is lit up or not, 5V power supply is normal or not, the wire soldering is correct or not. ③The USB wire connecting with computer is ok or not. ④The control card is broken
No marking	①The EZCAD and two drivers are installed ok or not. ②Confirm that all the switches are on. ③The marking content exceeded marking area or it is not in marking area. ④Check the 3 power suppler lit up green led, if no lit up, it has problem.
Laser source temperature is too high or Laser source system error when marking	①Laser source cooling holes are blocked or not. ②Laser switch button is opened or not. ③Check the 24V of power supply is normal or not. ④Check the 25 pin wire between laser source and control card is normal or not. ⑤Laser source failure.
It has double image when marking	①Check the 15V of power supply(for scanhead) is normal or not. ②Check the soldering wires on the scanhead and 15V power supply and control card. ③Scanhead(Galvo scanner) failure.
Marking size is not correct or deformed	①Please adjust the parameter according to screenshot in the folder “laser machine files”
Foot switch or Pedal doesn’t work	①EZCAD software parameter port setting: The Start Mark IO is “0”or not. ②Check foot switch connecting wire is normal or not. ③The foot switch failure, need replace.
Rotary device doesn’t work	①Open EZCAD--System Toolbar--Laser--SplitMark2-- Param(F3) --ID,choose“Y”,Step per rotation,“1600”or“3200”. ②Check the rotary driver led is lit up or not, if no, it indicates that the driver doesn’t get power; Use the multimeter to check the input 24V, if no, check the 24V power supply and rotary button is normal or not. ③When machine is opened and motor gets power, the motor axis is in locking state; If it can rotate easily by hand, please check the motor connecting wire is released or not, if no, please refer step2. ④If normal above, it means rotary driver or control card goes wrong, please replace it and debug it.
Computer doesn’t start	LCD doesn’t display any characters: ①Memory stick loose, unplug the memory stick and wipe it,then plug it tightly. ②Computer start switch is broken. ③Computer power supply is broken. ④Motherboard damage. LCD displays but cannot enter the system: ①Windows system damaged, install the new system. ②CPU fan doesn’t work. ③Hard disk interface is loose or damaged ④Drive connector is loose or damaged

Note:

1.Periodically (a month) clean the dust inside the machine to ensure that the internal machine is cleaned. The power needs to be controlled below 90%, over-long 90% power work will lead to excessive laser power attenuation and reduce the service life.

2.Operating the machine in wet conditions may cause short circuits and damage to parts inside the machine. It is forbidden to unplug the cable when the machine is working, it may damage the laser source, this is not covered by the warranty! If you really need to check the circuit, please contact us as soon as possible, and then open the cabinet to check the circuit after getting authorization.

3.Laser source and optical lenses are fragile, handling should be handled with care and avoid vibration.

4.Please back up the computer’s laser files into your usb flash drive or HDD. If computer breaks down, just copy the laser files to new computer, then install the card driver, and open the EZCAD, reset the fixed parameters showed in the screenshot. Then laser can work normally again.

5.If turned on with the lens cover on, melting plastic might have left residue from the fumes on the lens. After cleaning the lens started working great.
